To Our Pop Warner Community,
I look forward to the upcoming 2010 season, and representing Watchung Hills Pop Warner Football and Cheer. With a dedicated Board of Directors, and hard working friends and family, our young male and female athletes will truly enjoy themselves, meet great friends along the way, and experience the terrific opportunity of playing football and cheer.....It is about the kids, and should always be about the kids.
As we move forward, I would personally like to thank Joe Passaro for 13 years of passionate service. Under Joe's leadership, Watchung Hills Pop Warner (WHPW) has had many achievements. In 2006 alone, Joe and WHPW completed the new Pop Warner Complex.....As many of you are aware, it was not long ago that our kids practiced on a bumpy, slanted patch of dirt alongside the Warren Library....now they practice on a safe, Turf Field, complete with a Snack Shack, Locker Room, Film Room, and Equipment Shed....Thank you Joe.
Additionally, Mr. Passaro crowned two Mountain Valley Conference Football Champions, two Mountain Valley Conference Cheerleading Champions, and saw our Jr. Pee Wee Football Team win the Eastern Regional Championship and travel to Disney to compete for the National Crown. Our Midget Cheerleaders were 2006 Eastern Regional Finalists, and our Midget Football Team advanced further than any other Mountain Valley Conference Midget Team in history.....We honored National Little Scholars for significant academic achievements, launched our new Pep Rally, and celebrated the life of one of our beloved cheerleaders....
Although the passing of Janet Zilinski was tragic, we all learned to tolerate a little more, and to give back to the community.....We all rallied together and dedicated the 2006 season to Janet, and with Janet looking over us, WHPW athletes were all winners.... With the unwavering commitment of Janet's parents, all our coaches and volunteers can now receive CPR and AED training.....Thank you Janet.
In conclusion, Watchung Hills Pop Warner will remain about the kids....
Our Board of Directors provide us all with a governing body run fairly and democratically, and on behalf of our registrants. Please get involved....get to know your Board.... pass on your suggestions so that we can improve the experience for your families.
Additionally, our Football/Cheer Coaches and many Volunteers work tirelessly teaching our kids that through hard work, preparation, commitment, teamwork, and dedication, many positive things can be achieved....a great foundation for later years.
